Freund Farm
Purpose
PurePoint Energy designed this system in conjunction with the building of Freund Farm’s new high-tech milking barn. The system was designed to offset the consumption of energy from their robotic daily milking technology.
Our Solution
PurePoint Energy designed a hybrid 354kW system pairing a 224kW rooftop array across the farm’s main barn with a 130kW ground mounted array on the adjacent land, allowing the farm to reach a system size well beyond what the roof alone could support.
What We Learned
Combining roof and ground-mounted arrays on the same site proved to be an effective way to maximize system size for agricultural clients with large energy needs but limited roof area – an approach PurePoint Energy has since applied to similar farm projects.
